You will need
JASC's PSP7 and 8 - Get it here Frame Selections. Unzip the file and place
in your PSP Selections Folder. If you do
not have a Selections Folder, make one now. use for PSP 7 frame.pspimage file Use for PSP8
(this zip file contains the join psp image also) Frame Accessories. Unzip to a folder of your
choice.
PLEASE NOTE where instructions differ for
PSP8, these will be shown in blue
otherwise follow the regular instructions
To keep the loading time down, I have tried to keep the
screen captures to a minimum so when the same effect is used more than once, I have just
made a reference to it!
Remember to save your work often!!!
Step 1
Open a New Image 400x400 16 Million Colours Transparent
Open the
frame.pspimage file. Shift D to duplicate and
then close the original
Open the join.pspimage file. Shift D to duplicate and
then close the original.
Minimize this image for now
Open the framefill pattern that you unzipped to a folder of your choice
Set your foreground to pattern and select the framefill pattern with these settings:
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Frame"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhframerect.sel" Click on the Frame Layer Go to Selections/Load Save Selection/Load Selection
from Alpha Channel. Use the drop down arrow and select hhframerect
Floodfill
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply these settings:
Deselect
Step 2
Select you magic wand with the following settings
Click anywhere on the inside of the frame with your magic
wand
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply these settings:
Reapply the cutout changing the Vertical and Horizontal to
-9
Deselect
Step 3
Duplicate the image you have just created by using the shif key and "d"
Step 4
Open up the 2 pictures you would like to use in the frames. I am using pictures of
the Old Fort in San Juan, Puerto Rico taken by my husband. Make sure the size of the
pictures are larger than the frame. Copy picture 1 and then make sure your
frame is the current image. Paste picture 1 as a new layer. As the picture now
covers the frame go to the
Layer Palette and move the picture layer below the frame layer. Rename this layer
"Picture"
Step 5
Position the picture as required and select your Eraser tool using the following settings:
Make sure you are on the picture layer and erase the parts
of the picture that are showing outside of the frame. As long as you are on the
picture layer, you will not erase the frame.
Step 6
Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
Resize the image by going to Image/Resize using the following settings:
Go to Effects/Sharpen/Sharpen
Save your image as "frame 1". Minimize the image for later use
Step 7
Repeat steps 4 thru 6 saving your second image as "frame 2". Minimize the
image for later use
