You will need
JASC's PSP7 - Get it here Book Selections. Unzip the file and place in
your PSP Selections Folder. If you do
not have a Selections Folder, make one now. Book Accessories. Unzip the hhbookfill and hhpages
to a folder of your choice. Unzip hhyelgold gradient to your Paint Shop Pro
gradients folder.
To keep the loading time down, I have tried to keep the
screen captures to a minimum so when the same effect is used more than once, I have just
made a reference to it!
Remember to save your work often!!!
Step 1
Open a New Image 400x400 16 Million Colours Transparent
Open the hh.bookfill pattern that you unzipped to a folder of your choice
Set your foreground to pattern and select the hhbookfill pattern with these settings:
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Left Cover"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhleftcover.sel"
Floodfill
Selections/Float
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply these settings:
Reapply the Cut Out but change the Vertical and Horzontal
to -4
Deselect
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply these settings:
Step 2
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Right Cover"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhrightcover.sel"
Floodfill
Selections/Float
Repeat Step 1 Cut Out instructions remembering to
apply the Cut Out twice changing
the Vertical and Horizontal to -4 for the second Cut Out
Deselect
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply the same settings as in Step
1
Step 3
Go to the Layer Palette and highlight the Left Cover Layer
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Spine"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhspine.sel"
Floodfill
Selections/Float
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply the same settings as in Step 1
twice changing
the Vertical and Horizontal to -4 for the second Cut Out
Deselect
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply the same settings as in Step
1 but change the width to 30
Step 4
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Spine Right Detail"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhspinerightdetail.sel"
Floodfill
Deselect
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply the same settings as in Step
1
Reapply the Inner Bevel but change the angle to 315
Step 5
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Spine Left Detail"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hhspineleftdetail.sel"
Floodfill
Deselect
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply the same settings as in Step
1
Reapply the Inner Bevel but change the angle to 315
Step 6
Open up the "hhpages" that you unzipped to a folder of your choice and copy
Go to the Layer Palette and highlight the "Left Cover" layer
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Pages"
Go to Edit/Paste/Paste as New Selection and position the pages inbetween the covers
Go to Selections/Float
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply these settings:
DO NOT reapply
Deselect
Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
