You will need
JASC's PSP7 and 8 - Get it here Selections.
Unzip the file and
place in your PSP Selections Folder. If you do not have a Selections Folder, make
one now. Use for PSP7
ameristar.pspimage file Use for PSP8
PLEASE NOTE where instructions differ for
PSP8, these will be shown in blue
otherwise follow the regular instructions
To keep the loading time down, I have tried to keep the
screen captures to a minimum so when the same effect is used more than once, I have just
made a reference to it!
Remember to save your work often!!!
Step 1
Open a New Image 300x300 16 Million Colours Transparent
Open the
ameristar.pspimage file. Shift D to duplicate and
then close the original
Set your foreground colour to #2E305E
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Star"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hh01blue.sel" Click on the Star
Layer Go to Selections/Load Save Selection/Load Selection
from Alpha Channel. Use the drop down arrow and select hh01blue
Floodfill
Deselect
On the same layer set your foreground colour to #831717
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hh02red.sel"
Go to Selections/Load Save Selection/Load Selection
from Alpha Channel. Use the drop down arrow and select hh02red
Floodfill
Go to Effects/Noise and add 10% uniform
Go to Selections/Float
Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply these
settings:
Deselect
Step 2 Set your background colour to #E9E1E1
Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Stripes"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hh03stripes.sel" Click on the Stripes
Layer Go to Selections/Load Save Selection/Load Selection
from Alpha Channel. Use the drop down arrow and select hh03stripes
Floodfill
Go to Effects/Noise and add 10% uniform
Go to Selections/Float/Effects/3D Effects/Cut Out and apply the same
settings as in Step 1
Deselect
Step 3 Go to Layers/New Raster Layer and name it "Stars"
Go to Selections/Load from Disc and choose "hh04stars.sel" Click on the Stars
Layer Go to Selections/Load Save Selection/Load Selection
from Alpha Channel. Use the drop down arrow and select hh04stars
Floodfill
Go to Effects/Noise and add 10% uniform
Deselect
Step 4 Go to Layers/Merge/Merge Visible
Go to Image/Resize 70% of original. Make sure "All Layers" is
checked
Go to File/Export/Picture Tube
Accept the default settings and give the tube a name
Step 5 With your Tube Tool select the tube you have just saved
Change the scale if you wish but make sure the step is at 1
Open up a new canvas, size of your choosing
Click anywhere on the canvas to add your tube
Hold down the Shift key and move the curser slightly to the left
Add the tube again.
This gives the tube a more 3D effect
